Week 5, Post-Trial: Taako

[Okay...where to even begin. If Magnus knew what he said he knew in trial, then that means Taako probably does, too. It makes her feel pretty bad about the things she said, or didn't say, rather, the last time the three of them spoke in private. This feels like the kind of thing that'll just get worse the longer she puts it off, so here goes nothing.]

Ah...Taako?

[It's. A start.]

[Taako is not really naturally good at being gentle, or sweet, but he does try for Mary. She's done nothing but try hard and been hurt - and he has no intentions of punishing her for the things she was made to do.]

'Sup, pumpkin? You need something?

[withsadness]

Not really...

[Nothing immediate or pressing, of course. But she visibly relaxes when he doesn't appear hostile in any way.]

I just want to apologize to you, too. I could have said more than I did. I should have.

Actually, uh, from what I understand, you literally can't say some of it, so, apology accepted? It's fine. Really.

[Patting her on the head. That is . . . very condescending.]

We have your back, you know? All of you.

[withsadness]

Yeah...I'm starting to understand that now.

[She just wishes she had sooner, before she did what she did. But, honestly, even knowing that might not have changed what happened. Still, even if she couldn't tell them about some of that, she still could have told them what Assassin was planning. That might have not made a difference either. Assassin would still be dead. She'd still feel miserable, and like it was her own fault.]

I'll do better. I'll trust you.
